Bayer Product Cancellation
A Turning Point in Women's Health

When Bayer pharmaceuticals faced backlash over its contraceptive device, Essure, the stakes were high. Women and physicians reported severe health complications, such as chronic pain, severe bleeding, tooth loss, and miscarriages. Although 16,000 lawsuits and 27,000 FDA adverse event reports were filed by consumers, Bayer denied that the product was unsafe.
Robin, a veteran advocate for women’s health, stepped in as Bayer's strategic advisor. She facilitated a pipeline of information that directed data from medical offices and advocacy groups to Bayer’s stakeholders so that they could absorb the full scope of the product’s negative effects. As a result, Bayer permanently halted sales of Essure worldwide and began rebuilding trust with the public to demonstrate its dedication to women's health and safety.

Barilla's Path to Rebuilding
A Crisis Management Success

In 2013, Barilla Pasta Company became embroiled in controversy when its CEO, Guido Barilla, stated that the company would never feature a same-sex couple in its advertisements. His comments ignited outrage and calls for boycotts from LGBTQIA+ advocacy groups and allies, including Harvard University removing Barilla products from its cafeterias and competitors seizing the opportunity to market themselves as more inclusive.
In collaboration with Burson Cohn & Wolfe, Winning Strategies created a comprehensive plan to repair Barilla’s reputation and restore its market share. Winning Strategies helped Barilla’s senior leadership take full public responsibility for its mistake, connect with community leaders, recruit a prominent LGBTQIA+ advisor, and establish a Diversity and Inclusion Board. Barilla made a stunning turnaround and earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index.

What We Stand For

The Kennedy Center
Establishment of the First-Ever Social Endowment Fund

Winning Strategies recognizes that art and culture have a unique capacity to bring people together and, at times, change their perspectives. Robin’s extensive experience in the arts includes her current role as an appointee on the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts (PACA). She initiated the committee’s first-ever social impact task force, then led it through the complexities of governmental protocols at the Kennedy Center and built a coalition to support it. With her leadership, the task force was able to establish an endowment fund and attain its first substantial foundation grant.

Groundbreaking Presidential Initiatives under the Clinton Administration

During her tenure in the Clinton Administration, Robin led multiple groundbreaking initiatives that had a profound impact on the country. She played a pivotal role in the creation and implementation of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA), also known as the "Motor Voter" Act, which President Clinton signed into law.
At the White House Office on Women’s Initiatives and Outreach, Robin coordinated domestic and global engagement efforts on behalf of the President and First Lady, including fair pay, Title IX, voting rights, reproductive freedom, family medical leave, public health, domestic violence, and sexual harassment. Additionally, she spearheaded the President’s Child Immunization Initiative, increasing childhood immunization rates to 90% nationwide. Robin also led a public-private initiative at the Department of Labor, focusing on the Youth Opportunity Movement, which created pathways for young people to overcome societal barriers such as poverty and discrimination. These initiatives not only transformed policies but also achieved lasting success by creating long-term, transformative change at both the national and community levels.
